The purpose of the Habersham Central High School Lifetime Achievement Award is threefold:
Eligibility
Nominees must have received a diploma from Habersham Central High School and have graduated at least 25 years prior to the year of recognition.

Procedures and Required Documents
All nomination materials must be received by 11:59 pm on February 15. Materials may be sent electronically to [email protected] or by mail to Dr. Martha Cantrell, Habersham Central High School, 2059 State Hwy 197 S, Mount Airy, GA, 30563. A confirmation of receipt of materials will be sent by email to the nominator.
Timeline
Selection and Notification
A panel of community leaders will review the materials and determine the top candidate. The candidate and nominator will be notified no later than March 15. Nomination packets for other candidates will be retained for at least three years and reconsidered during the next selection period. The award will be presented to the recipient prior to the Senior Class Graduation Ceremony. The recipient will be the Graduation speaker. A professional photo and summary of accomplishments will be displayed at HCHS as an inspiration to current students.
- To recognize outstanding achievements attained over an extended period of time by a Habersham Central graduate;
- To highlight the exceptional education provided at HCHS; and
- To inspire current students to aim high and work hard to achieve their goals.
Eligibility
Nominees must have received a diploma from Habersham Central High School and have graduated at least 25 years prior to the year of recognition.
Award Criteria
- Achievements must have had significant impact at the local, state, and/or national level.
- Recommendations from at least two individuals who can speak to the nominee’s distinction over the scope of their career are required.
- Nominees remain in the selection pool for at least 3 years if not selected.
- Self-nominations will be accepted.
- One award will be presented each year one the day of graduation.
